/Challenge
For the MOA Design & Build Competition, I was tasked to design a bandshell for the amphitheater at Marjorie Park, a sculpture garden in Colorado. The bandshell had to fit within the marshy environment of the park as well as within a budget of half a million dollars. The design fit the theme, or Soundscapes in Structure.
/Solution
I designed Strata to feel as if the music is coming out of the earth, complimenting the park and blending in to showcase the sculptures rather than being imposed on it. It utilized concepts of biophilic design, incorporating nature into the structure and creating a sustainable design.
